He stayed to attend California Polytechnic University, Pomona, earning a BS in Landscape Architecture, then a Master of Business Administration. His first trip to Catalina was on a sailboat in the ninth grade. The experience changed his life and he fell in love with the coastal waters of California. Getting to experience the beauty and splendor of being on the ocean gave him a feeling of purpose. John is a successful business executive and has extensive board experience for both profit and non-profit organizations.
Kristy is a native Californian and grew up locally in Southern California. Kristy and John have owned private boats and are deeply involved in the fishing community in Southern California. Their first date was on a mini tugboat called the Sweet Pea, in Newport Harbor, California, in 1987. Both of their daughters and son grew up on the water, learning to love offshore adventures. It is John & Kristy’s desire to share offshore adventures with young people who might not otherwise have such an opportunity to see the beauty and magnificence of being in the open water.
